HELLO NINE SHIPS! |
August 3rd is fast approaching and it is looking to be a great day! There are a few things to share with you to hopefully eliminate some chaos on the day of the event!
Location:
The main tent will be set up in the field at River Avenue and Nathaway Drive in Young’s Point (See map below).
Start Time:
Events start at 12:15 with a nine canoe flotilla arriving at the locks. Set to live fiddle music, the story will be told of the journey from Ireland in 1825.
For full program, please see below.
Name Tags & Programs:
Please stop at the YP General Store to pick up a program & name tag (You will have to write it out with marker provided.)
Seating:
This is festival seating, so please bring your own blankets / chairs for sitting. A few chairs will be provided for those who forget – but you will definitely find your own more comfortable.
There will be a large tent to provide some shade, but seating on the grass is also likely. Priority in the tent will be for Elders and participants in the days events.
Food & Refreshments
You are welcome to bring a picnic, but we encourage you to support our local businesses as well.
- OBI Licensed Patio
- Lock 27 Tap & Grill Licensed Patio
- Young’s Point General Store
- Lions Club Food Truck
Parking:
CAR POOLING ESSENTIAL: There is virtually no parking at the locks, but we have secured a large parking area at Pure Home Grown at 2725 Chalmer’s Ave. On-street parking on both sides of the water will also be available. Shuttle buses will run from approximately 11:30 to 7:00.
There will be reserved parking for Volunteers, Talent and “Somewhat Accessible” spots – more on that separately.
