For the first time in two centuries, the Peter Robinson Emigration has been formally honoured on Irish soil. This September, nearly 200 descendants from Canada and the U.S. gathered in Ballyhoura, Ireland, for a six-day Homecoming that brought history to life through tours, performances, conferences, and a moving commemoration ceremony. The event not only paid tribute to the more than 2,000 Irish emigrants who journeyed to Canada in the 1820s but also created new connections between their descendants and the communities they once called home.
